The year is 1974. Barlow and Sarah still reside in the Trans-Pecos in the Great Chihuahuan Desert, except now they live in El Paso, not tiny Mosby, Texas. After working on a DEA Task Force in El Paso, he is approached to apply for a position with the U.S. Marshals Service. He does, and he gets hired. Now he's a rookie Deputy U.S. Marshal assigned to the Western District of Texas. It's a dream come true. The job is equally as dangerous as it was as a deputy sheriff, except he gets paid more money and his authority is nationwide. He couldn't be happier.
