Peter experiences persecution firsthand. He lived during the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero who is known for his sinister cruelty against Christians. Peter wrote letters to encourage the early Church, who faced daily threats due to their faith and proclamation that Jesus is the Messiah. Jude, who is most likely one of Jesus's brothers, initially rejected Jesus as Messiah. In his letter, he declares himself to be a slave of Christ. He writes to the Church to beware of immoral leaders who infiltrate the church and take advantage of people to gratify their own lusts. These letters prove to be invaluable and hold timeless truths for believers throughout the ages. This study examines these truths and explores applications for today.
