Maria Abundantia holds a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Sciences, graduating cum laude with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. Her 18-year-old non-speaking autistic son, Seth, is both her muse and the foundation of her work-grounding it in lived experience and uniquely informing the stories she tells. Society labeled her son's differences as limitation. She set out to prove them wrong. In that search, she discovered not only his gifts, but a depth of meaning revealed through perspective-hidden within what once appeared ordinary. Her work spans multiple formats, from children's illustrated bedtime stories to mantra-based writing and larger narrative works. A defining thread in her work is rhyme and cadence, which she uses intentionally to engage the subconscious mind and support deeper integration of insight and change. Inspired by her life with her son, Seth, her stories are shaped by the animals who surround her. She writes each day wearing her ancestor ash hat, where every feather represents a chapter she has brought to life.
