Charles Eben Johns, known by his middle name Eben by family and friends. Eben is now a bit of a worn carpenter, and arm chair philosopher, who lives in Amarillo, Texas and has since Christmas of 1978. Life experience and the grace of God, his qualifications for writing this 'how to' book on being thankful. He was born in an Indian hospital in Stella, Missouri. He is self-educated by way of reading approximately 1000 books between the ages of 12 and 21.Reader ,please don't disregard these messages from God based on the lack of accolades of the writer. Mr. Johns graduated High School in northwest Wyoming in 1976.He spent time in college in Colorado in the late seventies (mostly partying).He was privileged to meet a beautiful young Polish girl from St Paul, Minnesota in1981,who is now his wife, the love of his life, they have 7 grown children. He converted to Catholicism in 1987. Raised Baptist. He loves to study applied history with a spiritual component, golf, smoke cigars and trout fish. Mr Johns attributes his faith in God to Mrs. Birtha Johns, his grandmother, the best Southern Baptist woman who ever lived. She told Mr. Johns, the year before she died in 1997, that she had prayed for him for 30 minutes a day for 40 years. Thanks to his grandma.
