Lines of Flight: Citizenship, Borders, and Migrant Subjectivity offers an incisive, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary approach to the constellation of real-world and philosophical issues related to borders and migration in our global era. Exile, internal displacement, transnational relocation, and diaspora all operate under the conditions imposed by political, economic, and ecological transformations. Restrictions imposed by border regulations, strategies of determent, and discourses of power legitimize the rejection and deportation of migrants based on arguments of national security and degradation of the other. Moraña articulates critical and theoretical positions about the emergence, nature, and significance of borders and migration with particular attention to the challenges posed by racism, criminal activities directed toward migrants, and governmental prosecutions. She explores categories such as citizenship, sovereignty, nationalism, identity, and otherness.
