Ty Martin doesn't write about magic as if it's a fairy tale; he writes about it like a job site. Before he was building worlds with words, he was building them with his hands?working as an automotive mechanic, a laborer, a contractor, and a painter. He knows what it's like to have grease under your fingernails and the "persistent hum of the mundane" in your bones.

Born and raised in Port Townsend, Washington, Ty's path to fiction was paved with decades of anime (Yes, he's seen them all. No, he won't rank his favorites--it changes weekly.) and a deep appreciation for stories that hit like a sledgehammer. His writing reflects that journey: it's blunt, visceral, and unapologetically honest. He believes that a good story, much like a solid house, requires a foundation of grit before you can start reaching for the stars.

When he isn't balancing the elemental scales of Aethelgard, Ty is usually wrangling his daughters and his supervisor?a very opinionated Husky. You can find him chasing warm weather, long drives, and the next great story.
