Mitsui Takagi fled Tokyo before his professional reputation as a Shinjuku police detective could be tarnished by the revelation that his partner was corrupt. Not in the bribe-taking way either, but in a fucking-the-boss-of-the-Yamashita-Organisation kind of way.

He'd thought coming north to Sapporo and working as a detective with the Hokkaido Prefecture Police would mean his life would get quieter... that there'd be less people wanting to kill him, and the stress wouldn't be stained in blood. Except that hadn't proven to be the case. Within a few weeks of Mitsui starting his new job, not only were the streets of Sapporo awash with blood but the snowmen were being created with dismembered bodies...

On top of all that, Mitsui found himself enamoured with a reporter, Nohka Kawazu, who refused to leave him alone or stay out of his bed. Okay, maybe Mitsui could take some of the blame for that last one because he'd been the one to invite the man into his bed and now, he didn't want Kawazu to leave it. But unknown to Mitsui, the reporter had secrets, which if revealed, could destroy whatever this relationship was developing between them.

And if that wasn't enough, Mitsui's new partner might be corrupt.
