The USA has gone from a small power when it declared its independence to a unipolar superpower for a certain period after the end of the Cold War. Therefore, the course of its grand strategy allows us to draw many conclusions about the grand strategy of both weak and strong actors. At the same time, the book focuses on the specifics of the American grand strategy. During the first two centuries of their existence, the US resorted to the conscious encouragement of immigration inflows to promote its rise in international politics. In the 20th century, it combined realpolitik with its liberal ideology to develop international institutions and, after 1945, the alliances with which it won the Cold War. However, the American grand strategy also had its failures, mainly in the Third World, provoking intense feelings of anti-Americanism. The purpose of the book is to analyze the course of American grand strategy from its beginnings in the 18th century to the present day in an objective, scientific manner.
