Basile Baudez is associate professor of architectural history in the Art & Archaeology department at Princeton University. He specializes in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European architecture and focuses on the role of architecture in politics and society. Victoria Bergbauer is Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at The Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry. Her dissertation (Princeton University, 2025) provides the first transnational history of formerly incarcerated individuals and traces the architecture(s) and origins of rehabilitation in the nineteenth century.
