The school organized an activity for students willing to venture outside to help clear the snow off the cars parked outside the school. The boys were assigned to sweep the snow. With the weather showing signs of clearing up, staying indoors was becoming quite dull.
Li Xiaowei turned around and asked, "Xiao Ruan, are you coming?"
Lin Ruan, still half-asleep, nodded, "Mm-hmm, let's go."
After several days of being cooped up inside, Lin Ruan put on her thickest coat, two pairs of socks, and snow boots, wrapping herself up tightly, leaving only half of her face exposed. Her eyes darted around curiously.
In front of the school gate, cars lined both sides of the street, having been stuck there for days, buried under thick layers of snow, their original colors obscured.
Their task was to clear the ice and snow from the windshields and mirrors.
Lin Ruan covered her face and looked into the distance, spotting Zhou Yang leading a group of boys sweeping the snow off the road.
She approached and softly asked, "When did you come out?"
"I've been out since the morning. Unlike you, I don't sleep like a log," Zhou Yang replied, pausing his work to look at her. His nose was red from the cold, and snowflakes dotted his hair, yet his tone remained as cheeky as ever.
