This book of poems, first published in December 2007 represent a whole series of short poems, viewed solely through the frame of living in the Old French Quarter of Hanoi. The occidental city Blanshard arrived at by happenstance, brought her to write the core of the book. Her present contains the past as she recreates the fabric of memory. Fragments wrought together during displacement, pain, beauty, and disaster, tolerated through deep abiding love, they embrace the chaos of human nature.
Fragments of the Human Heart remains a significant archive of transcendental love and time that can neither be rubbed out, or repeated.
