Kelly Mangan is an illustrator and author in Burlington, Vermont. As a former labor and community activist, she gravitates toward stories which empower kids to be the change they wish to see in the world. As a queer creator and mother to a non-binary kid, she strives to create work which fosters empathy, pride, and self-love. When she's not writing and illustrating, you'll likely find her weaving on a rigid heddle loom, reading The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, or watching Star Trek with a cup of Earl Grey, hot. Lee Wind writes the books that would have changed his life as a young Gay Jewish kid-- and he's always looking for ways to be a better ally! Researching Eleanor Roosevelt for his nonfiction No Way, They Were Gay? inspired Lee so much that it sparked the idea for this picture book.
