Unlucky-at-love Christmas tree farm owner, Megan Darling, gets a visit from Dixon Graham, nephew of the town recluse, asking her to decorate his uncle's mansion for the upcoming Christmas ball. Meg takes on the job mainly to meet the older gentleman and see the inside of the manor that sits on the hill overlooking all of Chelsea, Connecticut.
Soon they discover that her grandparents and Dix's ailing uncle were involved in a love triangle over fifty years ago. Meg and Dix work on turning the stately manor into a winter wonderland while trying to help the three old friends heal the rift between them, but it's their own icy hearts that begin to melt.
Even though they each have reasons for swearing off love, the sexual tension between them becomes too hard to ignore. They both agree to a Christmas fling - one no-strings-attached, hot, steamy night, before Dix leaves for his California home. Too bad their hearts missed that memo.
Complete short-story holiday romance, no cliff-hanger. Steamy heat level, as there is an open door love scene as well as sexual references.
