Mark Swanson received his PhD in physics from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1976 under the supervision of Justin Huang. After postdoctoral appointments at the University of Alberta and the University of Connecticut he held a faculty appointment at the University of Connecticut at Stamford from 1983 to 2014, during which time he spent six years in university administrative roles. He is the author of 25 research articles and three other monographs with an emphasis on field theory and path integral techniques. He is currently an emeritus professor of physics at the University of Connecticut.
