I am 63 years of age, and have been married to my wife Elaine for the past 33 years. We have 3 adult children - Kristen (30, who is married) ,Timothy (28) and Narelle (25) both of whom are still living at home. We have just recently become grandparents for the first time.
I was born in Adelaide, South Australia, which is where we currently live, although early in our married life we lived in Queensland for 5 years and then we have also lived and worked in the United States (in Phoenix, Arizona) and in South Africa.
In terms of education I have an Honours Degree in Science, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and a Diploma in Financial Planning. I am also a fully ordained minister.
I first worked as a Secondary School Teacher teaching Maths, Science, Biology, computing and outdoor education, for a total of 23 years. During that time I also worked as a youth leader and then as a youth pastor for many years. After leaving teaching I then took a position as a senior minister for 7 years. I was then involved for a number of years as a lecturer and in developing programs in youth leadership training and development in the USA, Australia and South Africa. While we were in South Africa I was also involved as a lecturer in a number of rehabilitation programs in a maximum security prison. I have also worked as a Financial Planner for 5 years, and I was then self-employed as a painter for a number of years while lecturing part-time in a youth internship program. Currently I am on extended sick leave due to 2 strokes and cancer in the past 15 months.
I enjoy outdoor activities, landscaping and gardening and wood working (having built most of our furniture), and have recently taken up photography. For many years I was involved in sailing both competitively and for pleasure.
I have always been passionate about working with young people, and I have an increasing passion to help to raise up a new generation of fathers to positively impact their generation, families and world.
