It covers both travels in the Rhineland and Black Forest, and Mendelssohn's visit to England later that year, and includes unpublished correspondence, drawings, and watercolours by Mendelssohn. the Mendelssohns' diary is now available in a beautifully prepared edition by Peter Ward Jones ... The Mendelssohns could hardly have found a more sympathetic or a more meticulous editor for their diary than Peter Ward Jones.
