In September 2005 Jay Lefevers was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had a business of 11 years, a wife and three children, and was donating time to coach groups of inner city teenage kids. Over the next three years he would fight and beat the tumor, via three surgeries and radiation, only to be diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes in 2008. He continued to grow his business and persisted to coach, throughout chemotherapy and more radiation, with his company selected to the Inc. 5,000 list, and with his baseball team earning a trip to the state championship tournament. Jay would beat cancer in 2008/2009.
